The LVHRD Foundation’s first foray in to the dramatic arts debuted before a boisterous crowd on Tuesday, May 2nd. Twelve talented thespians, who were selected from a series of pre-tournament auditions, performed before the LVHRD audience at M1-5 in Tribeca. Timed to coincide with the Tribeca Film Festival, ACTHRD followed these up-and-coming actors as they worked their way through a series of rounds and surprise challenges.
Judges David Cote, Theater Critic from TimeOut NY, Casting Director Olga Liriano, Actor Enzo Carlino, and Acting Instructor Olinda Turturro, of Olinda Turturro Acting Studio, oversaw the tournament. As a testament to the fierce competition, the judges ultimately settled on not one Thespian Champion, but two. Derrick Wolf and Cynthia St. Juste were both awarded the title, creating an unprecedented shared championship. Fans of ACTHRD can only wait until next year’s event for these two thespians to return to the stage, and settle the title for good.
