Agora II Closing Party

2006.Sep.26. Tuesday - by lvhrd

This Friday, rounding out its September schedule at Williamsburg’s McCarren Pool (map), a once-forgotten relic of Brooklyn’s past civic accomplishments, New Yorkers have one last chance to witness Noemie LaFrance’s large-scale dance composition, Agora II.

Tagged as “a choreographic game with one thousand bodies”, Agora II invites hundreds of performers and participating audience members to the 50,000 square foot pool space for a site-specific performance that presents a slice of urban life in all it’s patterns and eccentricities. This Friday, September 29th, LaFrance enlists members of New York’s Critical Mass for a choreographed bike ride through Agora II’s penultimate performance.

We’re quite certain that you’ve already heard plenty about this performance, but let this be a final reminder that time is limited if you plan to attend. With several LVHRD members dancing in the event, this Friday is a great opportunity to watch the performance and then stay after the show for a dance party, DJ’s to be announced.

Tickets for the event are $20 for participating audience members, and $30 for non-participants. If interested in reading some critique of the performance, press reviews are listed below:
