When he unveils 20 new paintings tomorrow afternoon, there will be no waiting in line to enter a Chelsea gallery, no stuffy train rides out to Williamsburg: all you will have to put up with is some beeping taxi cabs and the smell of Dos Caminos wafting towards you.

Tomorrow, at 11am, on the corner of West Broadway and Prince, the Steve Powers show will begin. It’s open to the public (being held on the sidewalk) and sure to draw a crowd.

A gallery opening on a sidewalk? Sounds about as crazy as, i don't know, giving up your cell phone for the night.
