Activate Your Mind Today
2006.Dec.8. Friday - by Lint Fleecewood
Unlike most news sites that dump all the information they can on you like one giant messy bag of leaves, Activate takes a different approach–they only report on what they believe to be the most important stories of the week. And while this may make the news entirely based on the personal beliefs of what’s important to the editors, that’s exactly what they want.
Their objective: to make the news as subjective as possible, because if they don’t, they might just wind up feeding the “the faceless aggregator” (their words, not mine) just like every other news site on the web. And who wants that? Not Lint.
It also seems that today, Friday, December 8th, they’re thinking what I’m thinking. Today’s main story is focused on NASA’s mission to build a base on the moon, which is a subject I covered but a few days ago here on this LVHRD blog. Their article only begins with that topic, though, and quickly diverges into a critique on what’s going on here, back on Earth, and it turns out that what’s going on, isn’t pretty.
