Clue in the City

2007.Jan.15. Monday - by lvhrd

Remember the old Parker Brothers’ game, Clue? Solving mysteries, finding out that it was that dastardly Colonel Mustard in the conservatory with the lead pipe all along? Fine, fine memories, indeed. It’s too bad there isn’t a real life version that’s similar to the famous game that takes place in the city.

Wait, what’s that you say? There actually IS?

Yep, you’re absolutely right, there is, and it’s called Accomplice: New York, a game that takes all the best elements of Clue (The mystery, the suspense, the suspicion) and none of the bad (A movie starring Tim Curry).

Part game, part theater, and part tour, Accomplice: New York even starts out a mystery as the starting point is revealed to the audience only shortly before the show starts. And once it does, you and a few partners-a party of eight is preferred-are sent off on a wild chase across the city that unravels itself over a three hour period. And fear not if you can’t round up seven other people, as groups of 8 are sent off every half hour between 1 PM and 5 PM, so you can just fall into the shuffle once you get there if you already purchased tickets.

But don’t think you can just show up on any given weekend day for the party: because of the surge in popularity of the event, you have to pre-order the $45 dollar tickets months in advance.

It should be of note that we here at LVHRD are no strangers to the concept of roleplaying (See: Super Heroes Ball), and are definitely loving the creative spin of how it takes you all over the city to rummage for clues. Check out their site now to reserve a spot and buy tickets.
