Call For Talent

2007.Jan.23. Tuesday - by lvhrd

LVHRD MGZN is in full-swing preparing for our second issue, and we are officially appealing to all LVHRD members to help us along. Just as our events are only as exciting as the members who participate in them, the more involved you are with the magazine, the richer the reading experience will be. The issue is already shaping up to be an incredible experience, one that will push the limits of what a “magazine” can do, but there are three specific user-fueled sections that we'd love you to take part in.

1. Desktopia's:
The computer desktop is as much a personal, cared for space as the bedroom is. We spend hours a day with our faithful machines; they are where we work, we play, and where we space out when no one is looking. The windows you have open, the wallpaper you have set as your desktop image, personalized icons . . . they all speak volumes as to who we are. So please, the next time you are working hard, looking at something shocking, or listening to your favorite track, take a screenshot of your desktop and we'll add it to our gallery. Select submissions will be published.

2. Reviving Technology:
As tech progresses at its furious pace, we are all left to live with once cared-for objects that have been left obsolete and useless. The wireless mouse that no longer clicks, old cell phones, key boards, pagers, cameras, speakers . . . we are surrounded by a myriad of dead technology. We are tasking you, the audience, to offer these deceased gadgets a second chance, an encore performance on the stage of usability and innovation. It can be as simple as using a keyboard for a doorstop, or as elaborate as dipping cell phone antennas in gold and weaving them until they form a lovely broach. It's up to you. Make us proud.

3. Your Personal Projects:
Broad as it may sound, we are searching for new ways to interact with you kids apart from throwing mind-blowing parties each month. That means that if you are running a blog, publishing photos, working on your own mag or nailing deadlines with incredible clients, we'd love to hear about it. Apart from being featured on LVHRD .ORG, select entries will be featured within LVHRD MGZN.

It's community, back-scratching, a readership of over 60,000 and an opportunity to collaborate unlike any other. Don't miss your chance, and leave us a comment or send an email if you'd like to take part.

Always,
LVHRD

  1. Ryan Arceneaux Says:

    Hi,
I managed to forget the name of the girl I spoke to, but she is the art director for the magazine. She wanted to talk to me about possibly being interviewed for the second issue, as I currently have 2 jobs. Unfortunately, I will not be working my second job for the next two weeks, so I don’t know if you would still want to use me. Let me know your thoughts.
    Thanks,
    Ryan
