How to Beat Brain Freeze

2007.Jan.23. Tuesday - by lvhrd

We here at LVHRD aren’t hypocrites. We mean what we say and we say what we mean. When we say we LVHRD, we really LVHRD. But brain freeze, or Spheno Palatine Gangleoneuralgia, as the scientists like to call it, is no laughing matter. And we recommend that you don’t drink your sodas too fast or gobble your ice cream in one bite to prevent this painful problem.

But if you DO happen to have the urge to lick or drink to full capacity, here are some handy hints to sooth that pain away.

One: Rub your tongue at the roof of your mouth to add warmth to it, sending heat to your brain.

Two: Drink a warm beverage to counter the assault. Not hot, but warm. Warm vs. cold, makes sense, doesn’t it?

Three: Lie down on your side and count to ten.

And the most popular,

Four: Cover your face with your hands and offer a loud, high-pitched scream.

The best way to prevent brain freeze, though, is to slow down drinking and eating cold liquids or foods. We here at LVHRD care about you, and your loved ones. Remember that tonight when you come to ARCHDL, and pass the info along to your friends. Because the more you know…
