Art-chitecture with Legos
2007.Mar.30. Friday - by lvhrd
Take for instance, Nathan Sawaya who after winning a national Master Lego Model Builder competition in 2004, quit his job as a corporate lawyer to pursue art. Nathan uses Legos to create architectural phenomena, accurate portraits, and designs of household products. His work is painstakingly crafted and is both beautiful and playful. In his creations he stays devoted to scale and color perfection.
Be on the look out for his solo exhibit in the Lancaster Museum of Art. The Art of the Brick will be the first major museum exhibition in the U.S. to focus exclusively on the use of LEGO building blocks as an art medium.
