This is too easy to write about. Or too difficult. We can’t decide. We’re confused. We’re checking our pockets for our keys. We’re turning over furniture searching for our glasses and then finding them on our head.

While we would never look at a collaboration and say, “It’s impossible that this will yield a single spark of redeeming value,” in the case of the purported creative union of Robert Smith and Ashlee Simpson it’s difficult to look at the artistic juxtaposition and not grin. Their faces alone, side by side, are enough.

They could make sweet music together. We don’t know. Robert Smith could tap an undiscovered source in Ashlee and send her spiraling from one amazing album to the next before she declares her reitirement from music at the age of thirty and founds a new world religion.

At least she’s trying. Or her dad is. Creative collaboration, the linking of the minds: that’s what LVHRD is all about.
