Brooklyn Lager triumphs in D.C. taste test
A panel of five judges representing three continents, each with a unique range of beer-drinking experience, met over the course of three weeks to sort through the barley and hops at the Brickseller, high church of beer, in Washington D.C. The seeding was random. Each judge got two cups of unmarked beer and voted for their favorite. The beer with the most votes advanced to the next round. It’s no surprise to us that Brooklyn Lager drained the competition in five straight rounds, besting Coors, Sam Adams, Rolling Rock, Ellie’s Brown Ale, and Saranac Pale Ale in the finals. In Denmark people enjoy it with pickled herring, in Japan they’ve been drinking it with sushi for years, and in England they wash use it to wash down fish and chips.
Congratulations, Brooklyn Brewery. Burp. There was never any contest.
