Les Savy Fav, the New York rock quartet, are taking the notion of sharing music with fans to new extremes. While streaming tracks, previewing albums, or pushing for drm free content was once considered rich fanservice, LSV are taking it one giant step further by putting the fate of their music into the hands/throats of their audience.

As of today, FRIDAY THE 13TH, LSV fans are invited to visit the bands official site. Once there, you are to choose one of four song-bits and listen to it over and over again until you know every word by heart. As soon as the lyrics are committed to memory, dial a special telephone number and leave the band a message of you singing your heart out. If they like you, they'll include your wailing on the upcoming album.

The genius scheme was conceived by Les Savy Fav frontman Tim Harrington. A name most of our readers will recognize, Tim sits comfortably in the LVHRD hall of fame as one of our most active members. He hosted ARCHDL I, Judged MCFGHT I, rocked and rolled and stole priceless art from the MoMA at CLLPHNLCKN, was interviewed in MGZN I, and suffered from a banging case of SMC.

With MCFGHT II just around the corner, you can be certain that this wont be the last we hear from Tim and the boys. In fact, play your cards right and you'll be hearing yourself singing along with them.
