In July 2007 in DUMBO 5 teams of photographers, stylists, makeup artists, and models converged on the water between 2 bridges at Smack Mellon gallery space to compete in the first ever Dewar’s Master-Disaster PHTHRD: Photography Duel.

Phil Toledano, Nate “Igor” Smith, Alison Grippo, Kate & Camilla, and Leo Zacharias had 2 hours to create images for 3 briefs: Dialogue, Character, and Inspiration using the audience as models.

VICTORY

After a week of voting on LVHRD.ORG, Alison Grippo’s photographs swept the three categories Character, Dialogue, and Inspiration to make her the first ever PHTHRD Champion.
