2007.Aug.13. Monday - by lvhrdYouTube buried this clip of Dick Cheney in a ’94 interview discussing why it would be disastrous to invade Baghdad, overthrow Saddam.
Speaking about the first Gulf War Cheney says it was the right decision to stay out of Baghdad because if we had gone “The US would have been all alone…Once you took down Saddam’s government what do you put in its place?…It would be a quagmire.”
According to GNN, YouTube pulled the clip from the Most Viewed and Favorites list two days ago even though it has significantly more views and comments than the videos now at the top of the list.

So what changed Cheney’s mind? 9/11? That’s what he’d say, but wasn’t it really the chance to run the show. To be first string. A-team. Build his own war. No more second fiddle Dick. He has himself a first-rate quagmire now. Good and salty. Let it marinate.
