War has left its indelible mark on the bodies of the men in Nina Berman’s photo exhibit of veterans from the war in Iraq.

“Purple Hearts: Back from Iraq” documents the bodies and stories of men who fought in Iraq and returned to the U.S. missing pieces of their bodies and minds.

The photos will be up through August 30th at the Jen Bekman Gallery in Nolita, 6 Spring Street between Elizabeth and Bowery.

Nina Berman is a friend of Anthony Lappe who will host Bi-Fold: CNFLCT on August 28th.
