We saw this geisha walk by about 57 times and didn’t think twice, then she drops the hammer and it’s like cirque du soleil under that coat.
In October 2007 at Midtown Loft, an intrepid mob of sartorial somnambulists gathered for the Dewar’s Master-Disaster FSHN DL IV: UNDEAD BALL, curated by Refinery 29.com. For our Fourth Annual Fashion Duel we imagined a future where deforestation had turned paper into mankind’s most precious resource, and thus the most desirable material for couture clothing.
THROW DOWN
Two design-duos - Sarah Spratt and Christian Stroble of Eventide, and Nikki Dekker and Maayan Zilberman of The Lake & Stars worked for 90 minutes to make dresses out of magazines pages on live models All of this on stage, under hot lights, surrounded by an intensely curious crowd of costumed cannibals and demons. Kudos to the models.
VICTORY
The only true way to measure an outfit is to watch the way it moves - so the models did what models are born to do: WALK OFF.
Judges Aya Kanai, Steven Alan, Jeff Madalena and Louis Terline posited their verdict before host Dave Hill turned the decision over to the audience who declared Sarah and Christian from Eventide the FSHNDL IV champions.

When you were a kid and your parents made you go to bed when all you wanted was to stay up, this is exactly the kind of party you pictured them going to without you.
