Perhaps there will finally be justice, recompense, atonement.

The People vs. George Lucas is a new documentary that wants to bring fans’ beef with the New Star Wars Trilogy right to the man responsible. You can record your rant (or composed deductive reasoning) on any video format you like and send it in.

The folks at Exhibit A pictures will wade through the submissions and cut them together with celebrity interviews and other evidence to complete the film for 2009 release.

We hope hope hope this shows up in theaters.

Imagine how amazing the new trilogy could have been had the movies been directed by Christopher Nolan or Darren Aronofsky or David Fincher, i.e. if they had been the dark, dramatic, intelligent cinema the trilogy deserved and if Lucas had the presence of mind to step back and admit he was not the master of all aspects of his film.

Coming up with the Star Wars story is enough creative work for a lifetime; to tarnish that legacy with three children’s movies (I, II, III) is unforgivable.

Lucas should admit publicly that he failed and offer to remake the movies.
