MTA gets into MENSA free

New York Governor David Paterson and MTA officials announced a new Green Metro Card in honor of Earth Day.

Not that the cards are recycled or anything - the word METROCARD is just written in green instead of blue and will be available in vending machines April 22.

Way to go MTA. Way to remind us of what-could-be-but-what-is-not.

Let’s recap:

The cards are exactly the same as before AND Paterson is blind, which, if the cards were actually any kind of sustainable, wouldn’t be an incontrovertible pitfall, but as it is, Paterson might as well be slow-clapping for the sixth dimension: he went blind at 3 months old; he does not know what the color green is; you have to give the man substance over fluff.

Whoa….I think we just convinced ourselves that sight would be the sense we’d lose if it came down to it.
