The fourth in our Architect’s Duel series, ARCHDL IV was a timed model building competition between KONYK and FX FOWLE, held before a sold-out Music Hall of Williamsburg.
If you’re familiar with our Architect’s Duel, you know how it goes. The night was broken into three rounds: 30 minutes for sketching plans, 90 for building models out of an unconventional material, 10 for presenting work to the audience.
THROW DOWN:
24 hours before the event, KONYK and FXFOWLE were informed that they’d be building their models out of DRINKING STRAWS; just enough to familiarize themselves with the structural potential of sippy tubes.
The night of the event, in front of 450 people, the project’s brief was delivered, and the boys went to work. We’ve got THIS VDO that’ll show you the brief (hilarious), the boys working (amazing), and their final presentations (eloquent).
VICTORY:
After a week of online voting, the world declared KONYK the unequivocal champions of ARCHDL IV. Fame, fortune, and an INTERVIEW IN ARCHINECT followed.
EYE CANDY:
LVHRD design-gods Jeff Baxter and Jon Chonko spent weeks dusting up a model recreation of the Alaskan Oil Pipeline: THIS VDO PROVES IT. To suit our Alaskan theme, we asked LVHRD members to dress as either LUMBERJACKS or WILD ANIMALS. Check out the GALLERY to see what the hell it looked like.
