Penguin is marking the centenary of Ian Flemming’s birth with an insane collection of his fourteen 007 novels.

Covers painted by Michael Gillette perfectly capture the atmosphere, typography and appeal of these stories and their era. Spine details feature vamping silhouettes and chronological numbers for each story: they are best-read in order, the cliffhanger ending in From Russia With Love leads straight into a recount of his recovery as Dr. No kicks off.

The series gets published on May 29th, and you can see all the covers on Penguin’s blog. There’s even a micro-site for the novels. A luxury usually reserved for video games and movies, there’s something endearing about seeing a good old fashion book get this sort of adoration.
