Who says you have to wait until Halloween to go trick or treating? On Thursday, October 16, celebrate Ex Day by knocking on an old flame’s door — figuratively, with a bouquet delivery, or literally, if you’re just that creepy.
Ex Day is a new holiday concocted by CBS and 1-800-FLOWERS.COM. It’s partially in promotion of the network’s new show, The Ex List, centered on a flower shop owner who discovers via psychic that she’s already dated her future husband.
But Ex Day is also about reconnecting with the people…

Thuy Trang was the first Yellow Power Ranger and probably the most iconic iteration of that color.
Not because her father was a soldier in the Army of the Republic of Vietnam (the Wikipedia entry on his role defending Saigon from the invading Communists is epic), not because she died forever young in a San Fran car wreck in 2001, and not because she outlived the conceptual genius that made the first Yellow Power Ranger Asian and the first Black Power Ranger black.
Thuy Trang is the most iconic Yellow Power Ranger because as…

Time for a video biopic on the guy who helped make YELLOW the infamous color we know and love.
Goes without saying that The Bride wouldn’t have gotten those 88 notches in her Hatori Hanzo sword so easily if it weren’t for that yellow jumpsuit. And there never would have been a yellow jumpsuit if it weren’t for Big Bird.
While Big Bird has always been yellow, he hasn’t always had quite the same face or proportions. He’s gotten better looking with age.
This first video from 1969 has a younger…

Earlier this week our friends at thehappycorp went under the blade on The Today Show in honor of Bearduary.
Most of the guys couldn’t bring themselves to lose all their hair, resulting in some creative staches and chops.
It seems like guys have finally figured out they can stop going to gyms, drink as much as they want, never shave, and still get girls: ladies like pattern balding and fuzzy bellies.

We might have been at the forefront of this lumberjack craze with ARCH DL IV, but the History Channel is hot on our heels with AX MEN, an American original in HD.
The “American Original in HD” part is apparently an attempt to brand logging as part of Manifest Destiny, which it is, so…
The show follows a four companies of “tree fallers” as they deforest the Pacific Northwest, showing off the “paper cuts” that have left them with prosthetic arms, 9 toes and steel plates at various critical…

Woefully unemployed Colbert Report writer, Frank Lesser, is having a birthday party tonight at Shoolbred’s in the East Village.
It will probably be a fairly depressing affair, as most things are that deal with words and people who put them together to make sentences. You probably shouldn’t even go. I just really wanted to re-post this conversation I got in an email: two people at a “fancy club” talking about Frank’s party.
“It’s going to be so cool. I hear the Cloverfield monster is going to show up.”
“Um, his name…

Flavorpill and Urban Experiment picked LVHRD member Chris Roan to explore Baraboo, WI as part of their new series of web videos on Outoftown.tv.
Chris is one of four people from big urban centers chosen to seek out the secrets of life in small town USA.
We love watching Chris’ characteristic nonplussed wit as he tries to find something exciting to do after dark in Baraboo.
Standing in front of the bowling alley, Chris wonders to the deserted streets, “There are a lot of people that live around here and if the only…
