Chris Chris hunts his way into the Times

Mndy Jun.18.2007 11:20am | by lvhrd

The New York Times chronicled LVHRD member Chris Roan’s (DNCHRD 1, lampshade) search for a new apartment this weekend in The Hunt.

Chris and his co-worker at The Onion, Justin Fluck, decided to get a place together after they got fed up with their solo living situations.

Chris felt isolated living in Bushwick and Justins $1400 rent for a studio on St. Marks was killing him.

It sounded easy enough, but after they each drew up a list of criteria the new place had to meet it was apparent they…

The LVHRD life abroad

Wdnsdy Apr.4.2007 10:58am | by lvhrd

While traveling in Spain to catch the opening of Laboral Art and Industrial Creation Center, LVHRD founder Beauregard H. Montgomery did some reconnaisance and came across this video of a cyborg acrobat engaged in some tourorrism that seemed inspired by the robot at LVHRD’s Battle of the Moves: VDO 1.2.

The show at Laboral featured the interactive artwork of Aram Bartholl who is making fascinating advances into the realm where the virtual permeates the physical. Look at some of the exclusive photos he personally passed on to LVHRD from the Laboral opening…

PMP: XIT

If you don’t live in Texas you probably won’t get there in time for Peripheral Media Project’s one night exhibition in Dallas. Even if you do live in Texas you might not get there in time. In Texas a three million acre ranch only takes up a fraction of the panhandle. We’ve driven from El Paso to New Orleans and it’s real easy to stare at nothing along the way.

Nevertheless, PMP has come down from Brooklyn to the Art Prostitute Gallery in Dallas for a spectacle of prints, apparel, and titillating action.…

Seth Herzog’s Annual New Year’s Bash

Wdnsdy Dec.27.2006 5:42pm | by lvhrd

Taking place at Fontana’s in the Lower East Side (no longer at Tai - Tai closed its doors - forget about Tai) is Seth Herzog’s annual New Year’s Eve Party. Starting at 9:30 and going way into the 2 double 0 7, dress attire is optional, so you can wear anything from your Sunday best to your 90’s grunge era flannel shirt. Just not your birthday suit (unless, of course, it’s a dance routine involving a thin curtain, a back light, and a James Bond theme song…).

Ten dollars gets you into the…

LVHRD Member, David Hallberg, Makes Cover of Pointe Magazine

Thrsdy Dec.21.2006 8:57pm | by lvhrd

LVHRD member and judge of the first DNCHRD, David Hallberg, has some fancy feet of his own as showcased by a full spread article in ballet magazine, Pointe. The piece chronicles the “princely” dancer’s rise from a tap dancing, Fred Astaire loving youth to becoming the newest principal at the American Ballet Theatre.

A daunting trek, the self-proclaimed “all American boy,” began his life in Rapid City, South Dakota and later moved to Arizona where he was discovered by Boston ballet soloist, Kee Juan Han. With a technique that was brilliant…

In Need of More Zog?

If last week’s dose of Seth Herzog wasn’t enough to satisfy, you can catch Mr. Herzog tonight at his weekly show SWEET at the Slipper Room. This week, Mr. Herzog welcomes L.A. based comedian Nick Swardson, UCB Theater co-founder Matt Walsh, comedian and actor Baron Vaughn, and Christian folk rock duo God’s Pottery (just back from their award-nominated performance at the Edinburgh Comedy Festival). We’re unsure if Mr. Herzog will be naked this evening (to the dismay of countless DNCHRD2 attendees I’m sure) but in his own words, tonight’s show is one of his…
