Now you can buy prints of PHTHRD champion Alison Grippo’s stunning photography at 20×200.com, Jen Bekman’s online project to make it easier for people to find great art they want to buy.

Even though MCFGHT II was last month we can always look forward to next year’s karaoke showdown. We’re already getting inspiration from–where else–Japan.
Via thecoolhunter we’re seeing some karaoke clubs that could be either your heaven or hell. The rooms match the delirious spirit of karaoke we fell in love with, the dizzy riot that goes on in your head when you’re leading a room of friends through “Freebird.â€
What we want to see next, maybe at Arlene’s Grocery: mariachi-only karaoke night. You+full mariachi band=new resolve to live.
This weeks LVHRD VDO takes you behind the mustache to the final round of MCFGHT II, featuring viral video karaoke.
In round one our six contestants got off easy, performing a song they’d prepared beforehand to an audience of karaoke enthusiasts in a converted Nolita gymnasium. In round two the crowd chose the song, and for round three, the Mic Fight, the two finalists, Matt Coats and Tara Salerno, went head to head singing a series of viral video mashups, ranging from Montgomery Mini Mall, to Japanese safety aerobics, to Dick in…

On Tuesday, May 22nd, LVHRD hosted our second annual MCFGHT: Karaoke Showdown. Held within a converted Soho gymnasium, the 3 round event featured 6 gifted competitors going mic to mic with the hopes of being crowned LVHRD’s karaoke king.
Hosted by Kurt Braunohler and featuring the championship blend of Dewar’s scotch whisky and music by Snack and C’mish from Turntable Lab, MCFGHT II was a knock-down, drag ‘em-out-in-the-street battle, the likes of which NYC has never seen. The results may have been hotly contested, but there is no doubt the karaoke…
Snack and C’mish from Turntable Lab dropped the hot rocks at MCFGHT II on Tuesday night. Then they brought LVHRD’s mustache disguise sticks back to the Lab and gave everyone secret identities. Even the dog.
Thanks again to Turntable Lab for making MCFGHT II sound awesome on both sides of the karaoke showdown.
Stay tuned to LVHRD.ORG for VDO and more photos from Leo Zacharias.
In the meantime, Igor from drivenbyboredom.com has pics of the crowd and the contest on stage.

Many a mustache was painted; many a face was improved; many a voice was lost. It happened last night, and it was so good.
Over three rounds of single elimination our 6 contestants–Anthony Ellison, Eric Gill, Jahfurry, Laurel Wells, Matt Coats, Tara Salerno–vied for vocal dominance in front of three judges and…
