BARACK OBAMA WILL NOT BE DENIED

Just after 11 last night, Barack Obama passed the all-important mark of 270. And now one thing is for certain: this is going to be the mother of all bellyaches.

Clearly disregarding the “all things in moderation” adage as a trifling human belief, Barack Obama the cat — winner of this year’s Cat Fanciers’ Association-Iams Championship’s “Purr-fect President” competition — gorged himself yesterday on 270 of the 400 pounds of cat food he was awarded at the Madison Square Garden-hosted event last month.

Reports are sketchy at this time, but it…

BARACK OBAMA WINS!

Yes, folks, it’s true. Our congratulations or sympathies, depending on your political preferences.

In an election hosted Sunday night at Madison Square Garden, Barack Obama, a Bombay cat, bested Renegade the Republicat, a British Shorthair (the same breed as the I Can Has Cheezburger? cat) in a 2 to 1 vote and was elected this year’s Cat Fanciers’ Association-Iams Championship’s “Purr-fect President.”

In lieu of the ability to rock the free world, Obama was instead awarded 400 pounds of cat food and an appearance on Live with Regis and Kelly. (No…

Aesop beauty store

This Aesop store is in North Melbourne, but the SAY WORD design factor was pretty high so I thought we should share.

Aesop beauty supplies are held in pretty high regard around the world; for some reason there is no US retail store — lots of stockists, but no super brown box design store.

We want one in New York. Feels like the warehouse that holds the Ark of the Covenant.

SPTLGHT: The Proactiv Black Market

Proactiv is the best face-wash I have ever used. Hands down. End of discussion. I have never considered another product since I started using it about 6 years ago.

That said, buying Proactiv has always been somewhat of a frustration. You can order it online at Proactiv.com, but only by agreeing to have it automatically re-ordered every month for something like $49.95. So even if I don’t use up my supply every month it automatically gets re-ordered and delivered, which I don’t like. I want to control when I get…

Bearduary au revoir

This Friday Bearduary ends in a frenzy of lather and straightedges unsheathed. It’s like Valentine’s day all over again: ladies in NYC and around the world get their men’s cheeks back, pink and buttery.

We put some BEFORE pics up in the LVHRD Photo Gallery from last year’s clean-shave bonanza.

There’s no rule that says you can’t make 999 creative facial hair permutations before coming clean.

How to dress like a lumberjack

Dress like a lumberjack or dress like a woodland creature tomorrow night at ARCH DL IV.

For those of us who have not had the pleasure of wielding an axe in the defense of civilization, here’s a short refresher on the essential accoutrement you will need to pass yourself off as a lumberjack.

The forests of the world have known many varietals of lumberjacks, men aged with pine, birch and musk, bred for the needly embrace of the Spokane wind and the icy shards of Hokkaido. But for all their regional…

How to dress like a bear

This is my first post on this place. They asked me to do it today so I am.

My first topic is this.

There are people who ask me how they can be like me.

I eat those people.

You cannot be a bear if you are not a bear.

That is all.

The Lake & Stars in New York Mag

As part of their feature on the anniversary of the brassiere New York Magazine talked to FSHN DL IV competitors Nikki Dekker and Maayan Zilberman about their lingerie line, The Lake & Stars.

“Our stuff is comfortable enough to wear under a t-shirt,” says Nicki.

“Or for, um, sexy time,” adds Maayan.

The Lake & Stars specializes in the essential feminine luxury of undergarments, not utilitarian workhorse conversion bras.

“I had one of those (eight-ways-to-wear-it-bras) in college and I could never figure out more than two ways to wear it,” says Nikki.

Bust Craftacular

Next saturday, December 8th, break your Christmas budget at Bust Magazine’s 3rd Annual Craftacular fair.

Two-hundred vendors, DJs, food and cocktails while you shop.

I went last year and it was a good time. Tons of people and lots of great gift ideas. I got all of my christmas shopping done in a day. But I’m a boy. And I appreciate that convenience.

I bought this strong ring made out of steel and cement, and lost it several months later eating BBQ at Pies & Thighs in Williamsburg. It slid off…
