VDO: FaceBook Gansta vs. Sheffield Quigley

Today we stumpled upon the Facebook gangster.  They really nailed it. The jokes, the rap style, we lost about 2 hours today looking and laughing at his viral gem.  We couldn’t help compare it to Black 20’s Sheffield Quigley.  Quigley was the first professional myspace photographer. This is no lazy sunday, but we really enjoy how they classify types of social network photos and how they might have been created.

Another great facebook video comes from the UK, set at someones door step, displaying the discomfort and possible downside to friending…

VDO: Rebecca Turbow: new SAFE line go crazy

LVHRD member Rebecca Turbow has launched a Japanese Insanity Trap (JIT) to promote her new Spring/Summer 2008 line.

Use your speed-eyes to spot the eclectic mix of hem-me-ups and hem-me-downs the ladies will be wearing in buckets by the time the buds are falling off the trees…oh…that’s already happening - guess that means Rebecca Turbow makes sick clothes. Too bad they’re only for the ladies. Hurts my XY heart.

PHTHRD Teams (1 of 5): Phil Toledano and Mimi Fisher

For the Photography Duel on July 24th, 5 teams of photographers and stylists will compete in a timed photography competition to produce images in 3 categories. The LVHRD membership will vote for the winning image.

Photographer Phil Toledano & Stylist Mimi Fisher

Phil Toledano was born in London and received his first camera at age 11. He photographs the missing, the incomplete, the sacred barren places that rattle at the edge of your vision. He is fond of failing facades–bankrupt offices; the shoddy costumed bureaucracy–car salesmen. None of his photographs are of…

On a spring night in the city: Bi-Fold III: GRN

Last night at a loft space in the West Village LVHRD opened the doors and windows to a beautiful spring evening and hosted Bi-Fold III: GRN. We invited our friends and associates to join us in hearing Russell Robertson, founder of Hybrid Product Design + Dev, and Marci Zaroff, founder of EcoFashion label Under the Canopy, speak on what they’re doing to reduce our negative environmental footprint, and how we can all work towards building a sustainable future.

Colin Beavan, the No Impact Man, hosted the event and spoke on his…

Defeat sustainable apathy! BiFold III: GRN

Although more and more clothing companies are turning out organic versions of shirts, baby clothes, and khakis, marketers are having trouble making the average consumer care. Half of the people interviewed by Cotton Inc had no idea what “sustainable” or “organic” meant. When asked if they’d be upset if they found out something advertised as organic was just run of the mill cotton, almost 90% of people said they’d be only slightly annoyed or not at all bothered.

Green campaigners are chalking public indiffernce up to ignorance and conflicting messages. Most…

Tobi Elkin’s on The Wire

Drawing Inspiration, an article written by LVHRD member Tobi Elkin has just been sent to wire and is being featured on asap. Maybe it was Dewar’s Repeal Day that jolted her pen to paper or perhaps it was for the love of pasties, but Tobi’s article features artist/burlesque dancer Molly Crabapple.

Crabapple is a woman that wears many hats, even when she is wearing close to nothing at all. A former art student, she began working as a nude model and eventually made her way into burlesque. While preforming for major…
