“Confidence is an intangible that in these times we have found is crucially important for the proper functioning of our financial markets and the economy,” said some nerd this past Tuesday, “Confidence is something that Barack Obama exudes.” This intangible confidence must be responsible for the DOW rising over 300 points. Too bad there wasn’t enough residual intangible left over yesterday to keep the DOW from nosediving over 450 points, totally erasing that bad-ass election day market boner. America, we need some confidence.
Since nothing exudes confidence like chuckling to…

Do you like “artist t-shirts”? Does the phrase “limited edition artist tee” make you whip out your wallet and start typing all of your credit card numbers at once? What about “limited edition, hand-screenprinted, Obama poster”? Just kidding! Stop typing your billing address and calm down. We have no Obama posters here.
Back to t-shirts. They are awesome! They are even more awesome when they don’t say “keep staring and I might do a trick,” or “I don’t hear voices, I talk to ghosts”. Seriously Hot Topic, you are ruining the…

While not a new tactic, it seems like NYC streetwear companies are flooding the scene with some great free mixtapes this summer.

More and more I have been reading that celebrity is dead, and that more and more teenagers care less about celebrities. But what if everyone could be a celebrity? What if everyone could be Kanye West? Check out this new television infomercial featuring Kanye, a perky blond, and some regular guy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2TrkrSdyIHY

Today on my way to work, I passed our old office, which is now a hole in the ground. While I was walking up to it, I saw Hillary Clinton. From afar it was hard to tell what was on her hat, was it a moon or a space station? It was an Obama Logo. Upon looking at the wonderful wheat-paste, I couldn’t help but notice she wasn’t wearing the official merch, she must have bought it in china town.

Today we found an interesting intersection between FASHION + TECHNOLOGY. A bunch of Ruby on Rails developers are developing shirts based on the code that they work in all day. The company is called THOUGHT BOT, they make websites for a wide range of companies. But on the side, and sometimes at major RUBY events, they give away t-shirts. Check them out.

We know you’ve probably been wondering where to get Bobwhite or Brown Bear patches, maybe a “license Plate featuring a Bald Eagle soaring over a canyon” or a “license Plate featuring a Brown Bear surveying the terrain.”
And of course it’s hard in New York to find animal femo beads to hang from your belt fob or trick out your staff. This is why we were so elated this afternoon to come across Wild Beast Animal Gifts, purveyors of everything mentioned above and so much more.

I’ve wanted a pair of Toms for a while; my first pair arrived about 20 minutes ago, perfect timing, since my slip-ons from Pearl River are totally soaked-through with sweat.
Along with the super-comfortable shoes Toms sent a sticker and a flag, which I love mostly because it is blue and white like Argentina, which is a lovely country in the Spring Time, but that’s not now, cause their seasons are opposite.
For every pair of Toms you buy, Tom - or whoever - sends a pair to a shoeless…

LVHRD member Rebecca Turbow has launched a Japanese Insanity Trap (JIT) to promote her new Spring/Summer 2008 line.
Use your speed-eyes to spot the eclectic mix of hem-me-ups and hem-me-downs the ladies will be wearing in buckets by the time the buds are falling off the trees…oh…that’s already happening - guess that means Rebecca Turbow makes sick clothes. Too bad they’re only for the ladies. Hurts my XY heart.

If any of you plan on taking it back to fair Verona or Swan Lake at DNCHRD IV, you might want to invest in a pair of Capulet’s Pointe D30, apparently the latest evolution in ballet footwear…for some reason no one else has improved on pointe shoes in several millennials.
ALSO:
Capulet’s website (when it finally loads) is the most sexed-out American Apparel dance site we’ve ever seen.

From minds at MyOpenBar.com who gave substance to the euphemism, “Avoid hangovers, stay drunk,” comes the latest iteration in cheap-gorging, Secret Threads, a site devoted to “cherry-picked events, art openings, trunk shows, under-the-radar store and sample sale events and parties,” mostly downtown.
Get your fix. Loot New York bare. Secret Threads.
