LVHRD member Martina Fugazzotto is working on a new graphic novel plotted around the idea that instead of committing suicide, unhappy persons could elect to register for the the Indenture Registry and essentially become slaves devoted to the rest of humanity until such a time they felt their lives had meaning again.

If you don’t want your life anymore, at least give it to someone else who can get some use out of you. You’re going to kill yourself anyway. Might as well let someone use you as a slave, says Martina.

Interesting idea. But you might have to force the unhappy people to become slaves…seems like the idea of prolonged indentured servitude would make the prospect of ending your own life even more alluring.

All the slaves are just human robots who don’t want to be alive so they fall into a weird state of being, constantly entranced; maybe they’re drugged all the time.
