Air quality via text message

2007.Jun.11. Monday - by lvhrd

Ergo is a new SMS system that uses data from the EPA and weatherbug.com to give you a rundown of the air quality in your neck of the woods. By texting various phrases to 415 624 6678 you can find out if it's really as nice as it looks outside, as well as where the air is the dirtiest.

Text a 5 digit zip code (10012) to get the most recent air quality report for that area.

Text “worst” to get the 3 places with the worst air quality in America.

(full list of commands via boingboing)

While Ergo is a step in the right direction (congratulations to Mr. Eric Paulos for pioneering Ergo), what if SMS itself is the problem? LVHRD has fought the neuro-degenerative ravages of Severe Micro-Cellulotamination, or SMC, in the past with (CLL) PHN-LCKN. If need be, with the help of Dr. Mark Marmalard, we're ready to pick up the banner again. We all deserve to trust the air.
