The cured coming to reclaim their cellular devices at the end of the party.
For our first-ever (CLL) PHN-LCKN (Cell Phone Lock-In) at MoMA with PopRally LVHRD confiscated nearly 1,000 cell phones from guests and displayed them as installation art on a custom-built 32 ft wall. For one night several hundreds of human beings received a brief respite from a modern-day mainstay: the cellular phone.
THROWN DOWN
(CLL) PHN-LCKN was a two-fold event designed to highlight the impact of cell phones on social interaction, as well as raise awareness of growing epidemics such as SMC, a dangerous disease transmitted by cell phone radiation. Dr. Mark Marmalard, licensed physician and spokesperson for StopSMC.org, was present to make a speech on behalf of LVHRD, alerting guests of this little-known pandemic.
Art rock band Les Savy Fav played a surprise concert. Following frequent costume changes, lead singer Tim Harrington snuck away from the stage, in full black burglar garb, returning with replica art pieces from MoMA’s current OUT OF TIME exhibition. To the shock of many, Harrington and his team of back-up dancers flung the replica pieces into the crowd for fondling and destruction.
