NASA Repeals Prohibition of Living On Moon.

2006.Dec.5. Tuesday - by lvhrd

It seems that President Bush, growingly aware that at the rate this world is heading, we won’t be able to inhabit it any longer, has devised another plan–residency on the moon!

The murmerings began in 2004 when President Bush commited to a plan that would put a permanent settlement on the moon and a plan to travel to Mars thereafter. National Public Radio reported on the story and you can check it out here.

And just last year, Space.com reported even further proof that the moon is not only habitable, but would also make a pretty happening place to hang out if you’re on the northern rim of the Peary crater.

But for those who’ve been listening in on the LVHRD pipeline, you’ll know that LVHRD’s already one step ahead of the space race. Harken back to Master-Disaster Architect Duel I, where Matthew Johnson of Diller Scofidio + Renfro battled Jason Carlow of Smith-Miller + Hawkinson to build (what else?) a governemt headquarters on the moon.

What lies in store for next year’s Master-Disaster Architect Duel? That, even I don’t know (and neither does my partner, Viktor, I asked). But if you come a little closer, I’ll tell you about a rumor that may or may not be true. It seems that this time, LVHRD is hoping to have a competition between women. Could it happen? I don’t know, but nominations are still open. Contact Chantal Strauss if you’re interested.
