DNCHRD III:VNYL: Believe
2007.Sep.26. Wednesday - by lvhrdIt was quiet around here today. Hoarse voices. Throbbing temples. But the beat goes on. Inside.
Last night at a warehouse space called Volume in Williamsburg where Dizzee Rascal once performed on the back of a semi-truck, Dewar’s Master-Disaster DNCHRD III: VNYL put the dance party back into the hands of the people.

NYC DJs, Robot Blair, Woodman, and DJ Elhaam, went head to head in a three round turntable battle using VNYL supplied by the audience.
Upon arriving at Volume guests were given a colored plastic ball which they would use to fill bins to vote for their favorite DJ.
The balls, however, quickly resumed their archetypal function: projectiles and magic tricks (remember the ball pits at Showbiz Pizza?). If any ended up in the voting bins it was by accident.

In lieu of balls, the audience voted by dancing (or not dancing) like crazy people for their favorite DJ. Dance-offs became vicious and frequent, with losers shoved out of the way to make room for more gyrating hips.
Fueled by the inhibition-destroying bass, Dewar’s and Jolt and DNCHRD host Unemployed Lloyd’s call to tear the place to the ground, the party bordered on the insane and then went over the edge with several brutal cakings set to “Everybody Dance Now.”

In the end, DJ Elhaam won by a show of shouts, the only implement for approval that hadn’t been danced to the far corners of the earth. Her trophy is the massive record bin of vintage VNYL we have been amassing this past month.
LVHRD would like to thank Woodman, Robot Blair and DJ Elhaam for rocking an amazing party, and Unemployed Lloyd for somehow wrangling a semblance of order during the competition.

DJ Elhaam wins it all
Thank you to Jolt for juicing the dance energy, Colt 45, and Dewar’s White Label for stocking our bars.
We hope you had a blast. Check LVHRD.ORG for forthcoming pictures and video from DNCHRD III. In the meantime, photo blogger Igor Smith took some great pictures at Driven by Boredom.
